Practice Drives Growth, Communication Fuels Development——Jiangsu University of Science and Technology Students Intern at Fengdong

To strengthen the collaboration between the university and industry, and support the development of talent in the industry, 52 students from the Department of Metal Materials at Jiangsu University of Science and Technology participated in a three-day internship at Fengdong from October 22 to 24, 2025. This initiative marks a significant step towards deeper integration of industry, academia, and research.



Collaborating to Foster Talent and Create New Opportunities

Fengdong's General Manager, Zhu Xiaojun, first extended a warm welcome to Secretary Chen and her team from Jiangsu University of Science and Technology. Fengdong's Deputy General Manager, Han Boqun, briefly introduced Fengdong's development history, core products, and future plans. He emphasized the importance of technological innovation and talent development for the sustainable growth of the industry and expressed hope that this collaboration between the university and the company would serve as an opportunity to cultivate talent and maintain a long-term partnership.


 


Mastering Technical Knowledge, Getting Closer to Heat Treatment Equipment

On the afternoon of the 22nd, Fengdong's Safety Officer, Guan Qixue, conducted a safety briefing, outlining key safety precautions during the internship to ensure the students' learning and work environment remain safe. Deputy General Manager, Han Boqun, introduced the overview of the heat treatment industry and Fengdong's product features, helping the students gain an initial understanding of the application scenarios of heat treatment technology.


 


On October 23rd, Wu Shiyong, Head of the Technical Department II, delivered a lecture on "Selection and Design Principles of Heat Treatment Equipment" for the students. Using case studies and data analysis, Minister Wu explained the key points of heat treatment equipment design and selection, deepening the students' understanding of equipment knowledge. After the lecture, the students, led by Minister Gong from the Manufacturing Department, toured the Fengdong's continuous furnaces, batch furnaces, vacuum furnaces, and other equipment, gaining insight into the working principles and applications of various types of equipment.


  


  


Exploring Process Trends, Observing Intelligent Workshops

On the last day of the internship, Senior Engineer Su Yang from the Processing Division delivered a lecture on "Heat Treatment Process Equipment and Applications." Mr. Su used practical production cases, such as quenching of automotive components and modification of aerospace materials, to not only break down the operating processes of different process equipment in detail but also analyze industry hot topics like "How low-carbon heat treatment processes can reduce energy consumption" and "How intelligent processes can improve product precision and stability." This allowed the students to gain a clear understanding of the application scenarios of heat treatment processes in different fields, as well as the development trends of technological iterations.


 


Afterwards, the students toured Fengdong's intelligent workshop, where staff demonstrated how the intelligent system adjusts process parameters based on order requirements. This hands-on demonstration clearly showcased the advantages of intelligent manufacturing in improving efficiency and reducing human errors, providing the students with a more tangible understanding of the modernization of the heat treatment industry.


  


Deepening University-Industry Collaboration and Supporting Talent Development



The three-day internship allowed students to deepen their theoretical understanding of the heat treatment industry while gaining practical experience through equipment tours and specialized lectures, broadening their industry perspective. Fengdong stated that it will continue to engage in comprehensive cooperation with universities in areas such as joint talent cultivation, student internships and employment, and technological research and development.
